Although at times cheesy, this movie is a classic. The stunning follow-up to the original Spider-man. All those little boys (Some of them 40 years old, mind you) still wish they were wearing spider web-pattered tights. And for good reason. For some strange reason, there's some cake scene which still makes no damn sense, (I was just told that it was because she has a crush on him. No wonder why she burns herself on the pan! DUHHH!) The WHOLE of the movie is still a wower. That said, I must say that I think the first is still a tiny pinch better. For one though, I do enjoy that he owns up to Ben's death. I like the Doc Ock more than the Goblin, but there's just something that bugs me about them, I don't know what it is. Goblin had that stupid Power Rangers thing going on, and Doc Ock, well, you get the point.
Peter Parker is much more responsible in this film, and his identity is shown to Mary Jane. The overwhelming emotional power in this movie is just great. It's very nice also, of SONY to include this movie as a pack-in. At least for the first million PSPs that they have sold or will sell for the most part. To watch this even on the PSP is simply breathtaking. I love the part with the moped, just watch. The PSP offers no slow-down, and handles the action just as a DVD player; er, UMD player should.
If I had to score this movie against the original...Well, the original would win. Not by much, though, as I've said. Which in my opinion is more than fair. It's an excellent movie, worth a rental and even a purchase. So enjoy the flick.
